Saab 9-3 model year 2008-2012 with XWD and eLSD
Fault symptom:
Rear axle differential renewed, no programming possible, error: E4419, Unknown control unit software with a presumably newer version found! Programming aborted!
Solution:
When replacing the rear differential P/N 20966176 , the controller and the solenoid valve from the old differential need to be moved over to the new one according the installation instruction P/N 32019551 (attached with the kit and with this FAQ)
The service kit for the differential has P/N 32019550
Note:
If the old controller and solenoid valve cannot be used, they have to be replaced with P/N 12811304,
and the reason for this is that the controller from the kit 32019550 cannot be reprogrammed to work in a 9-3.
